Northern NSW - WWTP Digester Desludging

Situation:

Four digesters at this Northern NSW WWTP were required to be completely emptied as part of a project to decommission the site. Due to the space constraint, small-footprint equipment was required instead of conventional dredges.

Our Approach:

Using an A frame mounted Tsurumi 6" macerator pump, Dredging Solutions mixed the sludge within each of the digesters to a suitable consistency and transferred the material to a nearby sedimentation pond via an existing transfer pump.

Result:

The four digesters were emptied and decommissioned within the required timeframe, ensuring there was no holdup of the project.
